Keeping RFDS in the air delivering care

Our support and investment helps keep the Royal Flying Doctor Service in the air, allowing the RFDS to offer world-class medical care to those working and living in remote regions.

Empowering remote medical care

Through our partnership, sixteen medical chests have been delivered to remote communities to provide medical assistance and support during emergencies. These medical chests provide life-saving support, along with peace of mind for remote residents, while they wait for the Royal Flying Doctor Service to arrive. Senex is proud to have provided funding and financial support to the RFDS to supply these life-saving medical chests. Read more here.

Our financial contribution enables RFDS to continue to fly to remote regions and provide a variety of medical services to those in need – from lifesaving treatments, to General Practitioner (GP) and nurse appointments, dental checks and 24/7 telehealth services.

In 2023, Senex committed an additional $30,000 towards the RFDS Queensland Section Dental Van’s rotation in Theodore, providing an additional two days of free oral health service to the community.

Across the year, 1,684 treatments were delivered to 155 separate patients from across the region, a significant portion of the region’s population of 600 people.

Senex’s financial support of extending the rotation by two days meant 21 per cent more patients were able to be seen and have their teeth treated.

At Senex, we focus on supporting the communities where we operate and explore, extending from Roma to Wandoan in the Maranoa and Western Downs regional councils, to Theodore in the Banana Shire.

Our support of the RFDS started in South Australia, which is a legacy of our former operations in that State, which now extends across regional Queensland.
