Roma residents are being encouraged to add a splash of colour to their Easter celebrations when PCYC Maranoa’s ColourXplosion Fun Run, supported by Senex, returns to Bassett Park.
The popular community event will take place on Easter Sunday, 5 April 2026, with participants set to transform the park into a vibrant sea of colour during the 5km fun run and walk.
Participants will be showered in brightly coloured powder, with everyone who registers receiving a packet of paint powder to throw during the event. Community members are encouraged to wear white or light-coloured clothing, or even fancy dress, to make the most of the colourful experience.
This year, thanks to extra support from the Senex team, PCYC Youth Leadership Teams and Emergency Services Cadets from neighbouring clubs will also attend and assist with the event.
PCYC Maranoa Club Manager Trish Brider said the event brings the community together while raising funds for local youth programs.
“This event is always a fantastic family morning for the community, and regularly attracts more than 600 people,” she said.
“It’s all about getting locals and visitors together, having fun and supporting opportunities for young people in our region. Every registration helps us continue running programs that keep young people active, connected and supported.”
Senex Energy Community Relations Manager, Trevor Robertson said Senex was proud of its ongoing partnership with PCYC Maranoa and was excited to be hosting one of the highlights of Easter In the Country, the ColourXplosion Fun Run again in 2026.
“Run, walk, jog, skip or dance to the finish line,” Trevor said.
“PCYC Maranoa delivers important services to the community, including young people seeking positive connections and support from great mentors.
That’s why Senex has bolstered its support for the fun run by sponsoring the PCYC Youth Leadership Teams and Emergency Services Cadets from neighbouring clubs to attend, experience and help put on this amazing community event.
“Senex cannot wait to see everyone covered head to toe in colour again at Roma’s favourite family event, The PCYC ColourXplosion Fun Run!”
Entry is $12, and free for under-fives. Funds raised from the event will support PCYC Maranoa’s free youth development programs, which include After Dark, Drop In, Braking the Cycle and Emergency Services Cadets.
