Senex Energy is hosting community information sessions this October in Roma, Miles and Wandoan about its $1 billion Surat Basin expansion.

Community members are encouraged to drop in any time during the sessions (no formal presentations) to speak directly with Senex leaders, and technical and procurement experts about our current and upcoming works.

Senex Energy’s General Manager for the Surat Basin, Bonnie Coxon said the information sessions were an important opportunity for community members to learn more about Senex’s operations in their community.

“We are committed to maintaining and building upon our community relationships. Holding these sessions where locals can meet face to face with Senex leaders is a big part of that,” said Ms Coxon.

“There is a lot of exciting activity underway with our expansion works injecting more than $200 million into local businesses and communities.

“Senex proudly prioritises local and regional suppliers during the procurement process to ensure we share the economic benefit of our operations with the community.

“I encourage locals to come along to the sessions to learn more about what the expansion means for them and the Surat Basin region.”

Senex Energy’s more than $1 billion Surat Basin expansion will deliver more than 900 Queensland jobs over the life of the expansion including around 200 highly skilled, well paid ongoing jobs as a result of the investment.

The expansion will deliver 60 petajoules of natural gas each year to the east coast market from the end of 2025, representing more than 10 per cent of the annual east coast domestic gas requirements.

“Our expansion will generate more royalties to fund hospitals, roads and schools while we continue to support Australia’s energy security,” Ms Coxon said.
