Darren has more than 30 years of experience in Queensland’s natural gas industry. He was a pioneer of the natural gas boom in the Surat Basin, commissioning the pipeline that connected the first gas-fired power station to the Queensland market. He was also responsible for the first gas field connections into what is now the Wallumbilla Gas Supply Hub – a critical piece of infrastructure linking gas from the Surat and Bowen basins into the east coast market.

Since joining Senex in 2012, Darren has built the company from a small Cooper Basin oil business to a material east coast natural gas producer that will soon deliver more than 10 per cent of Australia’s east coast market requirements.

Committed to fostering meaningful relationships with stakeholders, Darren is known by peers to lead from the front on community engagement. His passionate support of the region has seen him establish genuine and enduring connections that have stood the test of time.
